SD Cards, Readers etc.

Just a quick not on SDHC chips, and readers, many older readers both usb and built in do not support the SDHC specification and will give read errors when used, or even act like they are working fine but not address the whole capacity of the chip. Make sure the reader you use with SDHC is fully comp...

Yea, without the update you can not use High Capacity cards

All ok now Greg. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Also, look at buying the faster class 6 cards as well, if you plan to record SI to them, the Class 6 cards handle data much faster than the Class 4 and the abismally slow class 2's. To give you and Idea of how fast the 6's are, The Class 6 cards are used to rec...

I cant get it to take the new image...

For some reason it duplicated the first image instead of taking the second one.

For some reason no matter what I click on, it keeps linking to the same image. Frustrating

Sacramento River wrecks

Here are some wrecks on the Sacramento River within a half mile of the confluance of the Sac and the American, downtown. This is some of a sailboat that colided with the closed railroad bridge and sank. http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7444/84101177.th.png http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/5340/27757602....

Sunken Tug in Alameda Channel Near Oakland CA

My Humminbird Rep on the West Coast Len Venci made a believer out of the folks at Star Marine in Oakland CA by imaging these wrecks, so I figured that would be a great place to start. Not bad for a first try right out of the box. This is a small tug, less than 35ft two passes one to my starbord one ...

Looks more like bubbles in the water

I get this when I pass over a wake of a recently passed boat, it appears to be bubbles and disturbed water swirls, which I see quite a bit on repeated passes over the same area, but it could come from current passing over something or a boat that passed a few min before. Dunno, just my opinion.

THANKS

Thanks Greg. I figured the puck transducer would not work on an aluminum hull and did not know if there was a transom mount that would have worked better. Thanks for your support of this site.

Dual disappointment

yea, I am all about performance, so I really do want to get the best I can get. I guess if I really get in a jam I can buy another xducer and tow it... Hope it does not come down to that.

Install starts Monday morning in Oakland.

that is distressing to hear...

Rickard, That is an interesting observation. I have been fortunate to use a number of different 1197 units over the last year, and I recently convinced a local rescue group to outfit two boats wth 1197s. Due to the outboard and deep-V we needed to use the two side imaging transducers, the wye cable...

or the high speed kit with Y cable

Not sure it will work but they made, (and some are still around but it is a Discontinued item) a High speed kit that normally had a puck transducer for shoot thru hull, and a Y cable that allowed it to work with the SI transducer. Greg Help me out here, can that be mounted on the transom for high sp...

AND EXPLORER IS CHEAP

It lists at 19.95 and allows you to explore a ton of lakes. You can set up waypoints in it and then export them to a universal format that your HB can read. This software shows contour and soundings and general stuff like that, so you can look at all the places on a lake you might want to fish, hmm ...

COOL

Cool, thanks Greg, for the tip on where to throw our suggestions on product improvements. I know a company like yours listens to your customers, it is how you stay ahead. I also understand that the financial realities of some improvements may not make the cut because either it would cost too much, o...
