Broke yet another 798 bracket

I broke another 798 transducer bracket! I'm losing count but this makes 4 or 5. Hurray for plastic transducer brackets! HB should take note of how many views the thread has. Bad, bad PR for them.

Same reasons you would want to hook one up to HB PC? Maybe he means the card?

I have a problem like that but on 798 CI SI. Sometimes it will not have gps on startup and will show it as not connected even though it's an internal GPS receiver! Other times it will lose the GPS while the unit is running. No rhyme or reason to it. Software related I'm quite sure at this point. Has...

Well don't hang me for saying this but in my all my experiences and all the boards I've read MotorGuide is your best bet for a trolling motor. 90% of the interference threads I read involve MinnKota. I've had my hands on around a dozen trolling motors at this point in my life which isn't many I real...

Some guys suggest as a rule of thumb to make sure your chart speed setting is about the same as your actual speed. Like a chart speed setting of 4 for 4mph scanning and so on. I started doin this a while back and it does seem to improve results somewhat. The only drawback to the canoe is it will roc...

a pool may not be the best place for testing. Especially if it has rounded corners and ends. Probably getting echos bounced around a couple times that are still strong enough to register on the unit. I wouldn't worry about the depth reading in the pool. I'd just look to make sure the transducer is s...

well there you go right there. Also to be fair, my cheap Lowrance unit that came with the boat had the same problem. But its scary to me that a $75 intro unit has anything in common with a $1150 unit when it comes to wear and tear. These guys have just been using to much plastic in the wrong areas i...

I understand what you mean now. And yea those crappie fishermen are a breed of their own. I wish one of them would let me ride in back seat and learn some real crappie fishing knowledge. I was at Seminole this past weekend. We were bass fishing and my friends' dad was just up the way from us catchin...

If your planning on rotating the head much then you will need a ram mount. The plastic head unit base HB makes uses plastic resistance type gears to rotate and hold position. They will eventually wear down, loosen and cause excessive vibrations and noises from he head unit base.

The donut hole has never really bothered me. I just took it as a "fixed" position when stationary. Is that what you mean?
