I plan to survey a lake for my diver friend.
He plan on diving in 0-30ft of fresh water.
We will be mapping the lake for DrDepth also.

Did I have more chance to find stumps/trees with Max mode?
Is it better to scan at clear and max sensitivity of Max mode and sensitivity around 10-15?

Thanks for your replies guys! For Wayne, I know that you have a speed setting in the software. Mayne the recording is too long. Next time I will try to time the recording to 1h long and have multiple files. For SonarTRX, I checked your website for your software. It's seems to be interesting. But a l...

HumViewer slow?

Is it just me or it's normal behavior from the software to be slow to read a 350Mb 2D sonar file.
The recording was 2h45 long.
I have a somewhat fast computer....

What other software can I use to read 2D sonar data?

Two things here... First, No, you can't alter the HB NMEA output. Second, normally, NMEA devices output the sentence they want and listen to the ones that matter for the units. So, GPS units will send position, Sonar will send Depth/temperature... The listening unit will read only the part that it n...

If you already have Mapsource and Topo maps, you can trace the contour in Mapsource with the "trace tool" to create a tracklog of the waterway you want in your unit.. Then just export it in GPX format to import in Humminbird PC which will convert it in Tracks. Now Import your track into the HB unit ...

Fast answer : You can't! Long answer : I don't think someone would spend time on a firmware for a discontinued product. So, you can't! Is it that hard to divide the depth by around 3 (in your head)to have your measure? The way I work, for dual units, is that I have a Garmin GPS connected to my sound...

You can't download a simulator for the computer like Lowrance.

But to use the one in your unit, on power-up screen, press MENU and select the Simulator option.

Just connect the transducer and put it under the console.
It won't damage anything. And then put you unit in Sonar OFF mode.

Since the SI transducer mounted on the transom should be higher than the bottom of the hull, it should not pose a problem.

And the 2D transducer is inside the hull, so no problem here either
