Greg I got a question, please.

The question is about the rubber plug that goes into the hole on the 798 transducer bracket to stop the excessive rooster tail effect. Do you know if the plug was designed with the transducer at the same time and was used in any long term on water testing? Or was the rubber plug added after the init...

Well it's late so maybe I'm just tired...... but the light went off for me at one key word you wrote, of which I have given no thought to until now. "Plug". Maybe I'm wrong but wasn't the plug added later after the initial 797 or 798 transducer design as a fix to the rooster tail problem? I'm thinki...

could you post a pic of your transducer install? do you get any bottom readings at speeds above 25 or 30mph? how many times if any has your transducer "kicked up"? or do you lock it down with the third screw? What is the top speed of your boat? How many times a month do you take your boat out? Lots ...

Part 2 of "Who hates broken transducer brackets? I do!&

Broke yet another wonderful 798 transducer bracket this past weekend at Eufaula AL. Just some choppy/rough water riding, no stumps or real contact needed to break these sh$#%y brackets. This is my 4th or 5th time breaking. This time it was once again the little lock in tab on one side breaking off s...

I just keep a rough running total. Last 15 years broken Minn Kota experiences = 6 or 7 Motorguide = 1. Saw a friends minkota break first day out of the box a couple months back. Broke again after repair by a professional. P.S. the motorguide break was totally my fault. Left trolling motor down for a...

HB will never address the plastic transducer bracket problem. The will probably redesign the transducer to be smaller for less drag at some point.

and plastic transducergate continues. Such a pathetic response from HB. Just design an alternate metal bracket and make some more money HB. A few dollars worth of plastic is causing HB to lose tons of respect!

not recommended, there is already some sort of chemical coating on the screen. Try laying a damp cloth on the screen for a while. Then use a micro fiber towel to dry the screen with a fair amount pressure on the towel in rapid circular motions. Then after it drys use some up close hot breath and a c...

I use a ram mount on my bow and console. Trust me, a ram mount solves almost any and all mounting problems. put it on a ram mount.
