Down Imaging Qusestion

Post by scottd » Mon Apr 18, 2011 6:53 pm

with a 75 degree transducer on down imaging how does one tell what is to the left & right of the boat. In 20 feet of water that pretty wide angle. Does anyone have any photos show this. :?:

With pure DI units, it's impossible to "know" which side is the return.

You need SI or QuadraBeam to have directional capabilities.

And that is why although you may get a prettier image with the single beam DI units: I prefer the Side Imaging version because I can tell which side of the boat something was on. I can also mark it with a waypoint so I can quickly find it again.
