optional transducer for 8000 watts ptp

Post by Crappiecaster » Mon Feb 20, 2012 6:48 pm

I have a 798 & am thinking about upgrading to one of the bigger 98's, On the HB website the bigger 98"s all say "up to 8000 watts ptp w/optional 1kw transducer" What does this mean? What is the watts w/o the 1kw & whats the advantage to having this up grade? Also , I assume this would be a new transducer trade-in / swap out. What is the cost difference? Thanks in advance.
Don't lie, there's less you have to remember

The 1 kW transducer is for 2D sonar only in the 200 / 50 kHz signal.

It's purpose is for 1000 ft and deeper signal.

Mostly used on offshore fisherman/commercial boats.
