using non SI transducer

Post by finny » Tue Aug 02, 2016 9:38 pm

I have a 797c SI unit
I also have a plain old 525 unit, the site says the transducer is the XNT 9 20 T

I don't have a lot of battery juice so I wan to cut down power usage. I think one way to do this is to use the 525's transducer.
Can I do this?
If I have both units hooked up with a y cable can I use the interface to turn off one of the transducers?

Check the Sonar menu for the Connected Transducer setting.

Change that to US2 or Dual Beam and it will turn off Imaging and just use the 2D crystal in the SI transducer or you can connect the XNT 9 20 T in its place and have a 2D-only unit.

There is no Y cable will not do what you want.
