999 and 1199

Post by Vince » Sat Feb 06, 2016 12:24 pm

I have a 999 HD si and I'm looking to buy a 1199. I want to put them both on the counsel, my question is can I run them both together on one transducer or do I need to put both transducers on my transom? Thanks

Yes you can share a single transducer via Ethernet.

Each unit would need the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter and then an Ethernet cable to go between them.
2' is the shortest Ethernet cable available AS EC 2E

When you do that, turn SONAR OFF on the unit that doesn't have a transducer connected to it so you won't damage the unit processor by not having a load on the sonar circuits.

For the unit with no transducer, select the other unit as the 2D source, Advanced source, and Temp source in the Ethernet menu.

Do you know if the transducers are the same? That way I could just use the 999 transducer that's already installed for the 999

Both units have the same standard transducer ---XHS 9 HDSI 180 T. That is the top of the line core unit SI transducer.
