hmm.. what about this:Wayne P. wrote: Software changes don't affect where the unit is operated, just what it does.
Not sure where you saw that statement but it basically means that US version units (we call them “domestic”) do not have time zones for outside of the U.S.A. and updating the software will not change this. We have never used any sort of geo-fencing in our units. Not sure who it was that started that rumor but it is wrong. Updating the software in your unit will not change the way that the GPS works outside the U.S.A.peterv6i wrote:hmm.. what about this:Wayne P. wrote: Software changes don't affect where the unit is operated, just what it does.
"Products with GPS functions do not allow for time zones to be reset outside of the US time zones. This will affect your ability to acquire satellites. In addition we do not send software to update the product. "
I'am scared that after Update of my 998 (bought in USA) will not work...?!
Is there a possibility to go back to old version if something is not working well? (for example I patch the 998 with 6.490 version and after that for example my gps is not working.. Can I patch my sonar with patch version 5.700 ?
thank you for any info..
