as 360 tm mounted on a old minnkota

Post by spwnsak » Wed Apr 01, 2015 1:07 pm

Hello, don't know if this was brought up before. I was wondering if I could hook up the transom mount 360 model# as 360 tm, on a older transom mount. minnkota endura 55 thrust. All I will be using is the clamp and shaft, may need to add shims to clamp. the 360 will be in a permanent position once deployed. Will be deployed and raised by hand. I know they make a t.m with auto deployment but more cash, and brackets are quite expensive. Plus a 5 port ether net I need, this could be out of my budget, but thought I'd ask.any advice is apricated.

Explain in detail what you posted. It doesn't make any sense.

The Endura is a transom mount hand steer trolling motor.

You cannot clamp a 360 to the Endura shaft. The 360 can't rotate on a trolling motor shaft. It has to be stationary. It clamps to the upper non-rotating shaft of a foot pedal cable steer bow trolling motor.

You can only use the transom version of the 360 with that motor.

Thanks for replying Wayne, sorry i wasn't more descriptive . I have a bow mount terrova , but can't hook up the 360 to that. So I was looking at the transom mount 360..model # as 360 tm . Would like to clamp that to the shaft of my old transom mount endura (may take some shimming). I would be tilting or deploying the 360 by hand. Basically just using the tilt hinge and shaft..i could make it so it doesn't turn right or left, so it's in a permanent postiion just have to tilt it up or down when ready to use.do you think this would work?.hope this clarifys the first post. thanks again for your help wayne.

Yes you could do that.
Some are doing their own inventions for the bow 360 on the bow since they have the electric steer motors.

The 360 shaft clamp is designed for Minnkota motors, but I have one on a MotorGuide.
Transducer Shield and Saver has an adaptor to make up the difference in the shaft sizes.

How about mounting to an old evinrude trolling motor

Post by SgtPalm1 » Sun Jul 12, 2015 7:55 pm

I have been on just about every forum to find a way to mount the 360 where I could remove it easily if needed. There is a wealth of knowledge out here so I thought I would add my solution to the bow mount 360. I took an old evinrude trolling motor mount, rebuilt it. It was the smallest flip down locking mount I could find and it had a sleeve that was 1.5" so a sheet of cork cut to size worked well to take up the gap.
Thanks for all the posts. I also found the fix for the 360 not being recognized by the onix. Older 360 will not update on new onix with 2.30.

Thanks for sharing Sgtpalm1. That looks good. I had my 360 mounted on the transom and I just made a new bracket to mount the 360 to the bow also. I used the hinge from a minnkota Endura transom mount. I think it was around $50. .H.B sells another ,newer style hinge for $200. also bought a Endura replacement shaft and made a bushing. Still have to bolt the new bracket, and maybe a ram mount to hold the shaft.
