That is more of a sales pitch site than informational. Is there a DVD available to provide an overview?

Craig...I know from previous threads that you share our frustration with HB corporate in regard to tutorial and on-line support. To whom and where do we complain about this?

I purchased the 1197 video from Bennett. Purchased thru Amazon for 12.49 plus shipping. Since I did not have my unit yet, it was somewhat informative and frustrating at the same time. It does give a quick overview of the unit but is frustrating since it can not be played through to the end. It stops at the completion of each chapter (?), which varied from very short (seconds) to a few minutes.

At the beginning it suggest that you break our your manual and follow them with it, I do not think this is possible. There is not much detail as you might expect in a training manual, it is what you might expect as a series of advertisements which demonstrates some of the units capabilities.

From my perspective, if you are a detailed type of person and have a unit then it is probably not for you. If you do not want to take the time to read the manual, nor spend the time to play with the unit, it might help. For those wanting a quick overview $12.49 is probably ok, but video's MSRP is $34.95 is probably too much.

It has given me information on how to move through the menus, and did answer a few questions.

Bottom line, I am not sorry I purchased the video, but think I would have been disappointed if I already had the unit. If you do not have a unit and would like a video demonstrated then go for it.

kmongar: call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks at 1-800-633-1468 and let them know that you would like for us to make a tutorial DVD for the Si units. If we get enough demand for theseā€¦ who knows?
